I know that my redeemer lives

"I Know That My Redeemer Lives" set to Rachmaninoff's "18th Variation."

I'm a life-long fan of Rachmaninoff, especially his gorgeous piano works. When the idea came to put the lyrics from the hymn "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" to his 18th Variation on "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini," I couldn't leave it alone. I worked on this for many months and am thrilled with how the two songs fit together. While I simplified some, it is still difficult because I wanted to stay true to the nature of the music—in fact, feel free to sing it with a full orchestra. :) To help though, I've created rehearsal tracks with the SA and TB parts panned to the right ear and accompaniment panned left. Practice with one earbud in or two, depending on what you need. I hope this helps! Email me questions.

LYRICS

I know that my Redeemer lives.

What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives to bless me with his love.

He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed;

To bless in time of need.
He lives, my kind, wise heav'nly Friend.

He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives to comfort me when faint.

He lives to hear my soul's complaint.
He lives and while He lives I'll sing:

My Prophet, Priest, and King!
He lives! All glory to His name!

He lives, my Savior still the same!
Oh, sweet, my Savior.

He lives, my Savior, Redeemer,

To silence my fears, wipe away my tears.

I know that my Redeemer lives.
I know that He lives.
